OLD MATES is a full-circle release from Brisbane punk lifers Dune Rats, celebrating where it all began while pushing forward with the same reckless conviction that's defined the band for over 15 years.

The album collects fan-favourite tracks from Dune Rats' first three EPs - Dune Rats (2011), Social Atoms (2012) and Smile (2013) - alongside the brand new single SHARKS, a raw, defiant anthem about backing yourself and swimming against the current.

Three early tracks - Fuck It, On Our Own and Ratbags - have been re-recorded in 2026, breathing new life into the songs that helped define the band's formative punk-garage sound.

OLD MATES captures the chaos, optimism and DIY spirit of early house shows, coastal towns and sweaty rooms - a snapshot of Dune Rats before the charts, the industry noise and expectations. Loud, nostalgic and forward-looking, it's a reminder that sometimes the only way forward is to ignore the noise and keep paddling.
