Something Soft is the sophomore effort from Irish intersectional feminist post-punks M(h)aol. Their first new material since singles "Pursuit" and October's "Snare" (premiered on KEXP + BBC Radio) doubles down on the melodic angularities & euphoric noise spurts of the band's 2023 album Attachment Styles (reissued by Merge Records in North America the same year) while also exploring new depths of melody & experimentation. This exciting new era for the band derives from a line-up change, as well as a few years of "rip it up and start again"-style sonic trials leading up to the recording of their latest album. The band has seen past praise from Guardian, NPR, NME, BBC6 and more, M(h)aol will be touring the US this spring.
