For their third album 'All For One', released in August 1983, the Newcastlebased trio of bassist/vocalist John Gallagher, his guitarist brother Mark and drummer Rob Hunter set about making some major changes. Playing a number of dates in America at the end of 1982 had been an eye-opener for Raven, and they decided that 'All For One' would be less about speed and more about muscle. And to help them achieve the album they could hear in their heads they wanted the use of more elaborate equipment than Neat Records' Impulse Studios could offer, together with a producer of their choice. Top of their list was Michael Wagener - because of his work on Accept's 'Breaker' LP - who unbeknown to the band was working at that time with Accept's frontman Udo Dirkschneider. The production team proved to be a lethal choice, and the resulting album was an incredible roller-coaster of power and passion, evidenced from the off by the teaser single 'Break The Chain'. It was inevitable that the band would get the Accept frontman into the vocal booth for a duet, and Udo sang with Raven on two songs, 'Inquisitor' and 'Born To Be Wild', both of which also appeared as a single in various formats. This release features the original album, as well as the non-album B-side 'The Ballad Of Marshall Stack', the two duets with Udo Dirkschneider and 'The Power And The Glory', which at the time was consigned to the vaults.
