In the early 2000s, amidst a vibrant Australian music scene dominated by rock and pop, Sarah Blasko emerged with a debut album that offered a refreshing divergence. Originally released in October 2004, The Overture & The Underscore earned four ARIA nominations, achieved gold certification, and featured songs that found their way into Six Feet Under, One Tree Hill, and Little Fish.
Its introspective tone and cinematic sound helped redefine the local indie landscape. To mark its 20th anniversary, a special edition 2LP 180gsm coloured vinyl is being released. Blasko will also return to the stage for a six-date national tour, celebrating both The Overture & The Underscore and What the Sea Wants, the Sea Will Have, which is also nearing its own 20-year milestone.
