Neon Ballroom is the third studio album by Australian rock band Silverchair originally released in 1999.

On this album the band is considered to have reached a new level of maturity, both literally and musically. When Silverchair released their first album, the band members were just 15 years old.
By the time they recorded Neon Ballroom they reached the age of 20 and had already toured the world performing on some of the biggest stages on the planet.

Musically Neon Ballroom ventures beyond the Australian trio's two previous (yet still incredibly successful) albums Frogstomp and Freak Show. The group's songwriter, Daniel Johns, was grappling with Silverchair's sudden global success and he poured these experiences into a new batch of deeply personal songs (tracks such as Emotion Sickness, Miss You Love and Ana's Song). Neon Ballroom is a truly original sounding album. Fusing heavy rock with orchestral flourishes and synthetic touches with powerfully emotional lyrics, the dark and haunting third album was universally acclaimed as a huge creative leap for Johns and his bandmates Chris Joannou and Ben Gillies.
