Simply Red's phenomenal career spans five decades , releasing thirteen studio albums racking up over 50 million global sales, over thirty top 40 UK singles. Released in October 2005, "Simplified" was Simply Red's ninth album and the second on Mick Hucknall's own label. "Simplified" aptly describes the content. On this album, Mick reinvents some of his best known and most successful songs, backed by the Simply Red crew. The album includes the hit single 'Perfect Love', and stripped down versions of the classic hits 'Holding Back The Years', 'Something Got Me Started ', For Your Babies ', Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye ' and 'Fairground'. The album peaked at number 3 in the UK album charts , and went on to qualify for a Gold Disc for sales of over 100,000. This Special Edition for National Album Day's Great British Groups has been newly mastered from the original production tapes, and is housed in a brand new gatefold sleeve with the lyrics and credits . The inner sleeve features a previously unseen photo and a new note from Mick The record is pressed on 180g silver vinyl.
