W.A.S.P. first exploded onto a raucous 80's metal scene in 1984 with their genre-defining eponymous debut album W.A.S.P. With an unwavering swagger, a singular image & their fair share of controversy to boot, W.A.S.P quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the world of heavy metal.
Recorded at Los Angeles' Record Plant in the summer of 1984 & produced/ co- produced by frontman Blackie Lawless & Shrapnel Records founder Mike Varney respectively, W.A.S.P. was the first & remains one of the finest, examples of a band with little regard for the rules, an outlaw attitude & the razor-sharp music to back it all up.
